Shawna believes that therapy should feel human, like a conversation that invites curiosity, laughter, insight, and, at times, even surprise. She sees therapy as a space for learning about one’s inner world, experimenting with new strategies, and just as often, unlearning and rewriting long-held narratives. Many of the people Shawna works with come in feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or as though they’re not doing enough for themselves or others. Her role is to offer a soft landing, a place to both rest and rise, to be present with clients as they remember and return to themselves.

Shawna’s approach is gentle and non-directive, grounded in the belief that each person is the expert in their own life. She works from a humanistic, strengths-based, and anti-oppressive lens. This means exploring not only what’s hard, but also recognizing the systems surrounding each person, the resilience already alive within them, and the parts of them that have been doing the best they can. As she often says: she can offer some colours, but only the client knows how to paint the picture of their life.

Whether she’s supporting someone through anxiety, grief, anger, or uncertainty, Shawna’s focus remains on presence—on reconnecting with what feels true in the here and now. She works with individuals navigating life transitions, women experiencing identity shifts, people living with physical health challenges, and youth rewriting their stories around substance use. She also supports couples in reshaping their connection and reimagining how they communicate and relate.

Shawna’s therapeutic work often includes narrative exploration, body-based awareness, and a commitment to examining not only what is happening but also the broader context in which it exists. Influenced by social justice-oriented thinkers, she holds the belief that healing happens in connection—with each other and with ourselves.

Clients often leave sessions feeling lighter, more grounded, or simply more like themselves. While the work can be serious, Shawna brings a sense of playfulness and aliveness to the process—sometimes, even a bit of fun.

She welcomes curiosity and would love the opportunity to connect.

Areas of Practice: life transitions, anxiety & stress management, professional/career issues, shame & guilt, grief & loss, difficulties with self-esteem, self-exploration & spirituality, trauma & abuse, identity & relationship challenges

Alex’s approach is client-centered, collaborative, and grounded in fostering trust and empowerment through the therapeutic process. His goal is to meet clients where they are and work together to cultivate a sense of purposeful calm and hopeful emotional flexibility in their lives.

Alex’s practice is rooted in trauma-informed and anti-oppressive thinking and follows the philosophy of holism, which, to him, means seeing people in their entirety—as unique and complex beings who exist within specific contexts. Whether clients are seeking support during a crisis or wish to explore and unpack the events of their lives, Alex is excited to join them on their therapeutic journey.

His approach integrates techniques from several therapeutic modalities and focuses on the cognitive, emotional, and physical aspects of clients’ lived experiences. Anna (she/her) is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and with additional trainings in Emotion Focused Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Clinical Counselling Hypnotherapy, mindfulness, and yoga. She works with youth and adults facing addiction, trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, eating disorders, and other mental health concerns.

Her approach to counselling is rooted in the idea that the body holds knowledge that cannot always be expressed through words. She believes that change is possible through the integration of the body and mind and aims to work alongside clients to help them gain safety and comfort in their bodies, their relationships, and their lives. Incorporating emotion processing techniques, mindfulness, and body work, she is able to offer a holistic approach to therapy. She believes that all people have potential and deserve the opportunity to be seen and celebrated for who they are. When people feel valued and worthwhile, they can develop the capacity to move through difficult emotions knowing they aren’t alone. Her hope is that clients leave her office feeling seen, heard, and with more insight than they had upon arrival.

In addition to traditional talk therapy, Anna offers Clinical Counselling Hypnotherapy where she’s found great success working with clients through guided meditation hypnosis. Clinical Hypnotherapy is a therapy that has been widely used and extensively validated by controlled research on pain management, self-esteem, anxiety, phobias, treatment side effects, medical disorders, sleep disorders, emotional and psychiatric issues, post-traumatic stress, relationship issues, eating disorders, addictions, performance issues plus other areas. Clients are encouraged to record their session to listen to their guided meditation after the session as needed.
